Just north of the city of Charleston is the suburb of North Charleston, a much newer community that while it doesn�t have as much of the historic charm as its bigger neighbor to the south, it more than makes up for it with many other features. North Charleston is on the Atlantic coast of the southern U.S. state of South Carolina and it is the major shopping center within the state.
