Located in the southeastern region of the state of Wisconsin in the American Midwest, the city of Racine has a diversified economy that still depends on its manufacturing past. The city is on the mouth of the Root River that flows into Lake Michigan and it is home to nearly 80,000 residents. Racine is still the manufacturing center of the state of Wisconsin in conjuncture with the larger city of Milwaukee to the north. The major U.S. city of Chicago is also located within a close proximity of Racine as it is a short drive of 75 miles to the south.
