Once nothing more than a little enclave, Santa Ana has since grown to be the financial and governmental center of Orange County and one of the most influential cities in the state of California. The landscape of the city is approximately 27 square miles and is located 134.8 feet above sea level. Santa Ana has 337,977 residents, according to the last Census, but the population is more than likely over 400,000 in actuality. The area has a relatively efficient bus system and most major destinations are painted on the windshield and most patrons or bus drivers will point you in the right direction if you ask.
